Bachelor of Health Care, Nursing, Laurea UAS International Separate Application 1

The Bachelor of Health Care in Nursing trains nursing professionals for health care services in Finland and other countries. The studies combine theoretical nursing studies, multidisciplinary studies, practical training and the academic thesis. They also emphasise intercultural communication and work in Finnish health care settings.

Laurea University of Applied Sciences delivers the programme through contact teaching on campus, simulation learning, online theoretical studies and independent learning. Students also train practical skills independently and with other students. Laurea uses the Learning by Developing pedagogical model and works with local health care companies.

The programme is intended for students who complete the preparatory/pathway studies before degree-awarding education. Laurea states that graduates can work in primary health care, specialised nursing units, the private health care sector, as experts or consultants, for non-profit organisations, or in international duties.

Students may be admitted to degree-awarding education only after completing the preparatory/pathway studies. Before the preparatory/pathway studies, entrance examinations are held and eligibility to apply is verified from the student's degree certificates. Before admission to degree-awarding education, the student must pass all study units included in the preparatory studies: English language B2, Finnish language A2.1, and other study units according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
