The Nursing degree programme trains nursing professionals for health care services in Finland and other countries. The studies combine practical skills with theoretical nursing studies, multidisciplinary studies, practical training and the academic thesis. They also highlight intercultural communication and work in Finnish health care settings.

The programme uses contact teaching on campus, simulation learning, online theoretical studies, and independent learning. Laurea University of Applied Sciences also uses the Learning by Developing model, with co-operation with local health care companies.

Laurea requires students to complete preparatory studies before degree-awarding education. The degree leads to work in health care services, and the page says graduates can also work in international duties, as experts or consultants, or for a non-profit organisation.

Students may be admitted to degree-awarding education only after completing the preparatory/pathway studies. Before the preparatory/pathway studies, entrance examinations are held and eligibility to apply is verified from degree certificates. Before being admitted to degree-awarding education, the student must pass all study units included in the preparatory studies: English language B2, Finnish language A2.1, and other study units according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
