Cloud and Network Infrastructures and High-Performance Computing is a two-year Master of Science (Technology) programme in ICT Innovation at Aalto University. It covers cloud computing, network infrastructures and high-performance computing. The programme description links these areas to smart connectivity, Industry 4.0 applications, autonomous vehicles, 5G and 6G, augmented reality, urban infrastructure and AI.
The degree is a double degree programme in which studies are taken at two different universities in two different countries. The two-year programme totals 120 ECTS credits and includes a 60 ECTS major, a 30 ECTS Innovation and Entrepreneurship minor and a 30 ECTS master’s thesis. Aalto University offers CNI studies as both entry and exit studies. The first year includes foundation courses in internet protocols and algorithms, cloud computing and high-performance computing. The second year includes a specialisation at one of the exit point universities. At Aalto University, the specialisation options are Mobile Networking and Cloud Services.
The programme is designed for study in an international environment. Aalto University says the studies are closely related to research in its Department of Information and Communications Engineering and Department of Computer Science. The programme leads to two Master of Science degrees from the two universities studied at. The careers named include technical, business, research and academic roles.
