Early Language Education for Intercultural Communication, Master of Arts (Education)

The Early Language Education for Intercultural Communication programme is a Master of Arts (Education) at the University of Eastern Finland. It focuses on language education, intercultural communication, research methodology in educational sciences, and pedagogical viewpoints on language teaching and learning. Students also study Finnish language and other university-level courses linked to thesis work or personal interests.

The programme lasts two years and is taught in English through contact teaching. It has orientation studies, major studies, Finnish studies and other studies. UEF says the programme is a steppingstone for paths in teaching, research or administration. It does not lead to teacher qualification in Finland.
