EUR-ACE accredited master’s programme in Electronics combines theory and practice in electronics components, measurement technologies and applications for ICT technology. The programme covers electronics design, electronics materials and components, and photonics and measurement technology. It is based on the work of the Circuits and Systems, Microelectronics, and Opto-Electronics and Measurement Techniques research units.
The degree is 120 ECTS credits and takes two years. Students choose one of three specialisation fields in the first semester: Electronics Design, Electronics Materials and Components, or Future Electronics and Measurement Techniques. The studies include mandatory advanced practical training, advanced and elective studies, a maturity test, an MSc thesis seminar, and an MSc thesis. The programme also includes mandatory Finnish language studies, and students create an electronic personal study plan at the start of their studies.
University of Oulu says the programme prepares students for work in ICT-related research and development, management, and entrepreneurship. It also leads to doctoral studies in electronics and communications engineering.
