The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Sustainable Mineral and Metal Processing Engineering, PROMISE, covers mineral processing, industrial minerals processing, sustainable plant design, circular economy and recycling. The programme addresses mineralogy, geometallurgy, mineral separation, modelling and simulation, automation, bulk solids technology, mineral economics, tailings management, soil remediation and reprocessing of waste and residues.
Students study at four partner universities through Erasmus Mundus mobility. The structure has four modules and a 30 ECTS master’s thesis. Teaching is on campus in contact mode and the programme is taught in English. The thesis is supervised by one partner university and carried out with cooperating companies and associated partners, and the programme includes internships and industry thesis work.
University of Oulu says the programme is designed around the growing demand for minerals, metals and materials for renewable energy, electromobility, digital communication and clean-energy technologies.
