Mechanical Engineering combines creative product development, design and modelling with efficient production that involves automation and robotisation. The programme also covers digital and virtual environments in design, the principles of the entire product life cycle and circular economy, and the role of business, marketing and customer needs in product development.

The degree has a bachelor’s stage of 3 years and a master’s stage of 2 years. LUT says the teaching prepares students to build, measure and test sustainable technical solutions in real life and virtually.
