Security and Cloud Computing (SECCLO, Erasmus Mundus), Master of Science (Technology)

SECCLO is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in computer science, with a focus on information security and cloud computing. Aalto University says the programme combines practical engineering skills with a strongly research-based curriculum. It emphasises security knowledge and hands-on R&D skills in cloud computing.

The two-year programme carries 120 ECTS credits. The first year is at Aalto University and includes mandatory and elective courses. Students study secure systems engineering, distributed application development, network and service architectures, ubiquitous computing, and cloud and mobile computing platforms. The first year ends with a summer school on an information security topic and a summer internship with an industry partner or a university research group. The second year is spent at another consortium university for specialisation and the master’s thesis.

Aalto University says the programme is a double degree. Students earn two Master of Science degrees from the two universities where they study. The programme qualifies for doctoral studies in an applicable field.
