The Bachelor of Health Care, Paramedics at Arcada University of Applied Sciences prepares students for emergency care with both paramedic and nursing skills. The programme aims to educate students to become registered nurses and paramedics. Students learn to help patients who fall suddenly ill and need urgent care, both in and out of hospital. They also learn to recognise and anticipate life-threatening situations and to act as the situation requires.

The programme uses a personal study plan. Arcada University of Applied Sciences says its modern health care labs and simulation environment support the development of skills, knowledge and decision-making with lecturers, experts and fellow multicultural students. Flexible e-learning is also used. The page also says good contacts with different partners within and beyond the UAS are integral to the programme.

Graduates can work as care level paramedics in ambulances and in nursing and emergency care specialist positions. The degree also leads to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, which expands career opportunities into nursing roles.
