Metropolia University of Applied Sciences offers this bilingual paramedics programme in English. You study emergency care, prehospital care, the emergency patient, multiagency co-operation, nursing, and Finnish language studies. The degree gives a UAS degree in both paramedics and nursing and meets the requirements of the European Union Professional Qualification Directives.

The programme lasts four years and has 240 ECTS credits. Teaching is mainly contact teaching on campus in daytime studies, with theoretical and laboratory or simulation learning, practical training, and some online teaching. Studies include a personal study plan, Finnish language integrated from the beginning, and practice in authentic health care environments. The thesis is 15 credits and is mainly done in pairs.

The degree enables work as an emergency care provider, and the page also says it provides eligibility to apply for Master’s degree studies in UAS, universities, and other higher education institutions.
