Metropolia’s Physiotherapy degree programme prepares students for work as physiotherapists. The studies cover applied exercise, aquatic therapy, rescue from water, multidisciplinary collaboration, client understanding and active client inclusion. The programme says its topical themes support continuous learning and the renewal of working methods.

The degree is 210 ECTS credits and takes 3.5 years to complete. It is taught as blended studies in English, with daytime teaching. The degree includes clinical practice and a bachelor’s thesis of 15 ECTS, written in English. The course offering is planned to allow 30 credit points per term.

Students need basic swimming skills, including basic diving skills. The programme says studies begin in English without a Finnish language proficiency requirement and build a foundation for self-study and on-the-job learning in Finnish language skills. Graduates may work in primary and specialised health care and rehabilitation in public, private and third sector organisations, or as entrepreneurs.
