Bachelor of Health Care, Public Health Nursing is a bilingual public health nursing programme at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. It gives a UAS degree in both public health nursing and nursing and meets the requirements of the European Union Professional Qualification Directives. You study public health nursing of people of all ages with strong competence in health promotion.
The programme is 4 years and 240 ECTS credits. Studies are mainly contact teaching on campus, with theoretical and laboratory or simulation learning. Some theoretical studies take place online. The programme includes clinical practice in nursing and public health nursing, Finnish language studies according to your personal study plan, and a 15-credit bachelor’s thesis.
Graduates can work in maternity and child health clinics, school and student health care, occupational health care, health centres, home care, medical clinics, health promotion organisations, development projects, private practice, outpatient clinics or hospital wards. The qualification also gives eligibility to apply for Master’s degree studies in UASs, universities and other higher education institutions.
