Cybersecurity and Assurance (CYBERSURE) is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree at the intersection of information security and assurance. Aalto University says the programme combines practical engineering skills with a strongly research-based curriculum and focuses on security knowledge together with hands-on research and development skills.
The two-year programme is a double degree offered by a consortium of seven universities in Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Austria and France. Students spend the first year at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where they study secure systems engineering, network security, cryptography, security analysis and threat management, followed by time for an internship in an R&D environment or a university research group. In the second year, students transfer to a second-year university for specialisation and complete a master’s thesis.
The programme leads to two Master of Science degrees from the two universities the student has studied in.
