The Master of Science (Technology) in Environmental Engineering combines natural sciences and engineering. It focuses on environmental challenges and solutions for water, air and energy. The programme also covers environmental well-being, the circular economy and sustainability.
Students choose one of three study options: Sustainable Energy Systems, Industrial Environmental Engineering, or Hydrology and Water Management. The degree includes elective supplementary courses, a Master’s thesis worth 30 ECTS credits, and a maturity test. Teaching is mainly campus-based contact teaching, with some online and hybrid courses. A student can also take an exchange period abroad.
University of Oulu says graduates gain a broad understanding of resource efficiency and emission control. The programme is linked with research and cooperation with regional stakeholders, companies, higher education institutions, industrial sectors, municipalities and government authorities.
