Human-Computer Interaction, Master of Science (Technology)

Human-Computer Interaction at Aalto University is a 120 ECTS Master of Science (Technology) major in the field of Information and Communication Technologies. It covers user-friendly computing products, extended reality, robotics, IoT, and human-oriented interaction design. The programme also includes four study tracks: Human-Centred Design, Intelligent and Interactive Systems, XR and Blended Interaction, and Societal Computing.

The degree is part of the two-year Master's Programme in Computer, Communication, and Information Sciences. Students complete major studies, possible minor studies, elective studies, and a master's thesis. The first year is for major and minor studies. The second year is for the thesis and elective studies, which can include additional major courses, an additional minor, multidisciplinary courses, or studies abroad.

Aalto University says the curriculum is designed for full-time students. Teaching uses interactive lectures, seminars, practical hands-on learning, research, and group projects. The programme is taught in English and uses contact teaching.
