This master’s degree programme covers client-oriented, evidence-based and effective rehabilitation services. It is organised around scientific theory and methods, leadership, musculoskeletal functioning, the promotion of physical activity, wellbeing technologies in rehabilitation, multidisciplinary assessment of functional abilities, basics and methods of research-oriented development, and sustainability in rehabilitation management.
The programme is 90 ECTS credits and is fully delivered through an online learning platform and online courses. Studies include webinars, group meetings, project work, independent tasks and peer discussions. Online lesson days take place 2–3 times per month in the first year and 1–2 times per month in the second year. Contact teaching is carried out via Teams 2 days per month.
Xamk says the degree prepares students for management and expert positions in multidisciplinary rehabilitation. The master’s thesis focuses on developing the student’s own work or work community and on client-oriented, multidisciplinary and evidence-based practices in rehabilitation.
