This Master of Social and Health Care programme focuses on emergency care systems development and leadership. It covers evidence-based and goal-directed development, systems thinking, person-centredness, safety science, staff well-being, digital solutions, and sustainable work in emergency care environments. Students also study how to analyse the effectiveness and quality of emergency care interventions and systems.
The degree is 90 ECTS credits and is taught entirely online in English. The structure consists of core competences, elective complementary studies, and research methods and a master's thesis. Coursework includes assignments and online lectures, and participation in online lectures is recommended but not mandatory. The thesis is 30 ECTS credits.
Arcada University of Applied Sciences and LAB University of Applied Sciences offer the programme together. Arcada describes it as aimed primarily at applicants with a suitable bachelor's degree in emergency care, nursing, public health nursing, physiotherapy, or social care, and at least two years of relevant work experience after the bachelor's degree.
