About this program

The Turku Doctoral Programme of Molecular Medicine is a doctoral programme at the Faculty of Medicine. It covers the aetiology, diagnosis and treatment of diseases at the molecular level. The programme combines biomedical fields and clinical research.

TuDMM places emphasis on translational research, where fundamental research is used in clinical research, or clinical samples are used to study the basic mechanisms of disease and identify potential therapeutic targets. Research areas represented in the programme include cancer research, endocrinology and metabolism, immunology, microbiology and connective tissue research.

In this programme, doctoral researchers can complete a Doctor of Odontology, Doctor of Medical Science or Doctor of Philosophy degree.
