The Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences prepares students for international careers in ICT. The curriculum covers software engineering, programming, database planning and management, web and mobile technologies, embedded systems, cloud and system architectures, user experience and user interfaces.
Studies are practical. Students work with projects, practical assignments and laboratory work, and they also build team-working skills. The programme includes work placement. In the top-up structure, students complete the first two years at a partner school and continue at Metropolia for advanced professional studies, a multidisciplinary innovation project, language studies, elective studies, work placements and a bachelor’s thesis.
Students choose one specialisation track: Embedded IoT Devices or IoT and Networks. The online implementation also lists Software Engineering as a specialisation.
