Master of Health Care, Healthcare Leadership

Arcada’s online Master of Health Care in Healthcare Leadership focuses on leadership competence, change and innovative competence, collective sensemaking competence, technological and ethical competence, and applied advanced research competence. The programme is aimed at work in the Nordic social and healthcare sector, where digitalisation, privatisation and demographic change shape leadership needs.

The degree is 90 ECTS. Arcada offers it as a full-time online programme and as a part-time online programme. In both versions, lectures, coaching and assignments are handled online. The master’s thesis project is 30 ECTS and is a development and research project focused on healthcare leadership.

Arcada says the programme makes graduates eligible for doctoral studies. After graduation, students can apply for different leadership positions within the healthcare sector.

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree. The programme is primarily aimed at candidates with a suitable bachelor’s degree in nursing, midwifery, occupational therapy, public health nursing, physiotherapy, emergency care, sports and health promotion or physical education. Applicants must also have a minimum of two years (24 months) of relevant work experience gained after completing the bachelor’s degree.
