Data Science - ICT Innovation (EIT Digital Master School), Master of Science (Technology)

The Data Science Master’s is a two-year academic programme in data science, innovation and entrepreneurship. Aalto University describes it as a double degree programme studied at two different European universities in two different countries.

The programme totals 120 ECTS credits. It includes a 60 ECTS major, a 30 ECTS Innovation and Entrepreneurship minor, and a 30 ECTS master’s thesis. Aalto University offers Data Science as both entry and exit studies. The first year covers data handling, data analysis, advanced data analysis, data management, visualisation, applications, and university-specific electives. The Aalto specialisation is Machine Learning and Large Scale Computing, with study in machine learning, data mining, Bayesian data analysis, reinforcement learning, stochastic methods, convex optimization, graphs, time series, speech, text, image data, large scale computing, and data management.

The programme is designed as an international double degree and leads to two Master of Science degrees from the two universities studied at.
