European Mining Course, Master of Science (Technology)

The European Mining Course is a two-year Master of Science (Technology) in mining and resource engineering. Aalto University says it trains experts for the demand for metals and minerals. Students study mining technology, mineral processing, recycling, business and economics, management, and safety matters.

The programme is a joint degree with Aalto University, the Technical University of Leoben and RWTH Aachen University. Students study at all three universities, with one semester at each. The final semester is for the Master’s thesis, which can be completed at any of the three universities or in industry under supervision from all three universities. The course uses excursions, industry visits, real-data assignments and team-based case studies.

It leads to three degree certificates, one from each university. The Master’s thesis includes a possibility of industrial placement.
