Film and Television Producing, Master of Arts (Art and Design)

The Master’s Programme in Film and Television, major in Film and Television Producing, develops skills in film and television producing. It focuses on independent audiovisual entrepreneurship, a research or development project in film producing, and artistic leadership. Some courses combine production, screenwriting and film directing to build competence in television drama.

The programme is planned with teaching staff through PSP discussions. At the start of the studies, the student plans the projects, reports and essays included in the degree. The studies include at least one minor, and the student can build an individual study plan in cooperation with the teaching staff. Studies include 30 ECTS of joint courses covering entrepreneurial and working life skills, analytical skills and research skills.

Aalto University says the programme qualifies for doctoral studies in an applicable field. Graduates become film producing entrepreneurs, screenwriters and producers working in television.
