About this program

Health Technology Engineering is an electrical engineering programme. It covers human physiology, biomechanics, biosensing and regulatory frameworks. The programme is designed for students interested in engineering problems in health technology.

The degree is 120 ECTS credits over two years. It includes 65 credits of major studies, 25 credits of elective studies and 30 credits of master’s thesis. Teaching combines electrical engineering lectures, collaborative projects and specialised health tech engineering topics. The programme also includes guest lectures and collaboration with staff from the New Children's Hospital in Helsinki.

You choose one of two majors at the start of the programme: Health instrumentation and wearables, or Health robotics and signal processing. The programme provides eligibility for scientific postgraduate studies in Finland.
