About this program

Nordic Master in Innovative Sustainable Energy Engineering is a double degree programme leading to two Master of Science degrees. Aalto University describes it as combining sustainable energy engineering with innovation and entrepreneurship. The programme covers conventional, renewable and alternative energy practices, policies and technologies, with attention to technical, environmental and socio-economic issues.

The programme lasts two years and uses contact teaching in English. Students study for one year at two different Nordic universities. Each university period corresponds to 60 ECTS credits, and the total degree is 120 ECTS credits. The programme has four study tracks: Bioenergy, Energy Systems, Heat and Power Engineering, and System Integration of Wind Power.

Aalto University says the programme is implemented in strong international cooperation with the Nordic5Tech partner universities and that international mobility is an essential part of the studies. The programme qualifies for doctoral studies.
