Maritime Engineering (Nordic Master), Master of Science (Technology)

The Nordic Master in Maritime Engineering is a two-year Master of Science (Technology) programme based on expertise in naval architecture, offshore engineering and maritime engineering. It covers stability, resistance and propulsion, seakeeping, manoeuvring, ship and ocean structures, and, where needed, introductory naval architecture. It also includes general and special engineering competences such as CFD, structural analysis and composite materials.

The programme is organised in two parts. In the first year, students study core maritime engineering subjects at master level. In the second year, they specialise in one of four study tracks: ocean structures, passenger ships, ship design or ship operations. The thesis topic must be within the chosen study track, and students must start at one partner university and finish at another.

Aalto University describes the programme as suitable for international students and Nordic students who want to specialise within the Nordic Five Tech alliance.
