REPLAY - The European Game Design Masters is a two-year European Master’s programme in game design. It focuses on creating meaningful game experiences through design, experimentation, and development, with study in cultural diversity in games, games as a broad medium, and self-learning skills with production techniques.
The programme is a joint master’s degree offered by universities in Belgium, Finland, and Portugal. Students collaborate on team-based creative projects and attend seminars and lectures led by game industry professionals and researchers. The final semester is devoted to an individual graduation project and a written report.
Students start at Universidade Lusófona in Lisbon, continue at LUCA in Genk, and study at Aalto University in the third semester. The programme says graduates are prepared for doctoral studies in an applicable field.
